Domestic Long Hair - Black - Angus - Medium - Young - Male - Cat
Angus a solid black angora, has come a long way and has a lot of potential as a domestic cat. He is starting to enjoy being petted and hes starting to get up on the bed now, too. The back story: WAG has a wonderful volunteer who helps us with all things kitten: shell take pregnant mothers, mothers with young kittens, or even orphan kittens and do a great job with them. This volunteer also rescues feral cats on her own (WAG isnt set up to handle feral cats): for true ferals, she does trap-neuter-release. But for young kittens who can still be turned into house cats, this volunteer spends months getting them to be trusting, loving companions. This last summer, she took in about 15 kittens. Some came along quickly and have already been placed, but she still has 11 left. They are all at the point now where they would benefit from being in homes of their own. As our volunteer also needs to move, WAG has agreed to help her, so we need to place these kittens as soon as possible. The kittens are all about 7 months old, and all have been spayed or neutered and have been tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV, and FIP, treated for parasites, and vaccinated. For some of them, we are willing to relax our indoor-cat- only rule. Were also reducing our adoption fee to $25 per kitten. They have been worked with a lot, but all will need weeks to adjust to a new home and people, and all still have a ways to go to completely come out of their shells so will need patience and effort on the parts of their new owners to bring them to their full potential. They are all currently happily living in a house. They are used to other cats, and we think they all would be fine with a mellow dog. No young kids. Cookie kittens: Angus, Pandora, and Ozzie: Cookie appeared in a homeowners yard along with her four beautiful angora kittens. The homeowner fed them through the summer, and after she was introduced to our volunteer through a mutual friend in the fall, our volunteer went in and trapped them. Cookie had clearly been someones house cat, and one of her kittens was very friendly and outgoing and was adopted right away. Cookie is a WAG cat who is still looking for a home: see her individual picture and description. The other three kittens -- Angus, Pandora, and Ozzie -- were originally very shy, but they are all coming along nicely now. They will especially benefit from being in their own homes, preferably with a tolerant cat, as these kittens follow the lead of the cats around them, so would make more rapid progress if they werent around other shy cats. Right now they all act as though they are confused: They had their mother, who seemed to like human interaction, and the other friendly adult domestic cats in the home where they currently live. But on the other side, they have all these other playmates who act like people are to be treated with caution. We really feel they would flip the switch to domesticity in the right setting. They are getting more and more friendly, but they especially like other cats and are always rubbing up against the other tolerant older kitties. We think they would also like to be around a friendly dog, as they cant seem to get enough other creature love. These kittens, who are all gorgeous angoras, are absolutely beautiful and fun to watch. They dont appear to shed, which is a nice thing for long-haired cats.
