JAXX is a 3 1/2-year-old male Rottweiler who is being surrendered to WAG because his owner is a Marine who was deployed and his family can't keep him. Jaxx is a bit of a goof with a lot of pup left in him; he loves to play and is eager to please. He is affectionate and enjoys doing things with his person: he loves going for walks and playing, adores the water and canoes, and does well with car rides. He will thrive in the home of an active family that includes him in their lives and activities. Jaxx has had basic training and follows basic commands; he loves his crate and Nylabone toys. He does well with the gentle leader and can be walked on leash, but will pull if he is distracted by another animal, a bicycle or motorcycle going by, or something catches his eye, so could use more training with this. He barks appropriately if someone comes into the yard or knocks at the door. He is in perfect health. Jaxx loves kids: his current family has a special needs autistic grandson who plays with Jaxx, and there has never been an issue. Although Jaxx is OK with other dogs he meets if introduced properly, he needs to live as an only pet. WAG only accepts applications from New Hampshire residents and from residents of communities in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts that are on the New Hampshire border.
